The Academy for Entrepreneurs from Beskydy, organized by Progresko, won a national victory for the Czech Republic in the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) in the category of investment in entrepreneurial skills. This award shows that the academy is helping people in the Beskydy improve their entrepreneurial skills while contributing to the development of the local business community.
David Pavliska, Chairman of the Frýdlant-Beskydy Microregion – a union of municipalities that finance activities for entrepreneurs – said of the success: “We are very happy for the cooperation at the Academy. We are very pleased with the event and its impact on local entrepreneurs is important and the award proves the quality of the activities and the importance for our micro-region.”
Kamila Smutná, organizer of the Academy, adds, “Our seminars and workshops give entrepreneurs practical tools and skills. For example, in the autumn we had seminars and workshops on topics such as local marketing, making videos for a brand and more. On Wednesday, November 19, we have our final event of the year: the launch of the Entrepreneur’s Diary. It will be a networking meeting, which will include an inspiring lecture on sustainable tourism and entrepreneurship, led by a representative of CzechTourism.”
Not only seminars and workshops, but also a series of interviews with local entrepreneurs contribute to the promotion of entrepreneurial activities. The series is called Diary of an Entrepreneur and has featured 28 stories of local tradesmen and businesses over the past three editions.
The European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) are awards initiated by the European Commission that pay tribute to outstanding projects supporting entrepreneurship and SMEs at national, regional and local level. The national winners will gather in Copenhagen, Denmark, in the first half of November to compete for the European title at the SME Assembly.
