The Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy hosted the regional round of the Czechskills 2024 competition. In the category of Entrepreneurship Support, the participants were given a task that they had to process in the most attractive way within 3 hours and then present their business plans in front of the expert jury and other participants. The chosen theme was in the spirit of sustainable production of products for the modern household. Twelve teams from secondary schools presented their projects, focusing on ecology and innovation, and competed to advance to the national round.

Ideas for the modern household
The teams worked on a variety of projects aimed at providing solutions for a greener and more sustainable lifestyle. Some of the business ideas presented included eco-friendly cleaning products, recyclable tea towels, 3D printer cartridges made from recycled plastics, and even an automatic irrigation system for smart homes. Some teams focused on renovating older furniture with added value or creating an eco-friendly composter that can turn food scraps into useful gardening material.

The competition culminated in a results ceremony after the team presentations. The first place was won by Vojtěch Grendysa and Filip Sokol from the Secondary School of Teleinformatics in Ostrava-Poruba. The second and third place went to the teams from the Secondary Industrial School of Construction in Havířov, composed of Ondřej Kaňok and Martin Duháček.
