Škoda Group – Development, production and modernisation of rail vehiclesDevelopment of digital solutions for modern public transport

The Škoda Group has its own digital development centre in Ostrava, where technologies are being developed to move public transport towards greater safety, efficiency and sustainability. Here, teams of developers and engineers focus on intelligent rolling stock management systems (TCMS), automatic train operation (ATO), diagnostic and communication technologies. The Czech Head Award-winning Anti-Collision System (ACS), for example, one of the first steps towards autonomous transport, or the Smart Depot digital ecosystem, which automates processes in railway depots and increases their efficiency, have come from their workshops. Thanks to these facilities, the Moravian-Silesian Region is helping to shape the future of European and global mobility – not only through new vehicles, but also through the smart digital solutions that drive them.
