Ostrava, 6 November 2025 – International construction group HSF System combines traditional design activities with digital technologies and process automation. With custom extensions for Revit and the use of artificial intelligence, designers streamline routine activities, increase data visibility and free up more space for creative work. HSF System both strengthens internal know-how and standardization of BIM work and shares its experience with the professional public through conferences such as BIM OPEN 2025 or the upcoming BIM Friday at VŠB-TUO.
Projection with an overlap into programming
The HSF System construction group is not only a general building contractor with its own design team, but also confirms its role as an innovator in the digitalisation of the construction industry. The design team has long been looking for ways to combine efficient building design with digital technology. “Our goal is to have processes under control from design to implementation. That’s why we have started to create our own Revit extensions that simplify routine activities and give designers more room for creative work,” says Jiřina Janšová, Head of Design at HSF System.
Thanks to these approaches, HSF System develops not only internal know-how but also the methodology of working with BIM across the entire group. The design team is actively working on data standardization, managing the Common Data Environment (CDE) and implementing internal classification systems. The result is greater clarity and consistency in the coordination of complex projects, and thus fewer errors in the execution phase.
Designer as creator of digital tools
At the BIM OPEN 2025 conference in October, designer Ondřej Černík presented a unique approach to design process automation and the use of artificial intelligence in the development of tools for Autodesk Revit using pyRevit. Using examples from specific construction projects, he showed how a designer can use basic Python knowledge to create custom scripts for Revit and further optimize them using artificial intelligence. These scripts can, for example, automatically generate plumbing lists or prepare window views by type and location. “AI helps us create faster, but here too, you have to be clear about what you want. Often the designer becomes a “cleaner” after AI, so it is important to keep an overview, patience, the ability to correct the outputs and not be afraid to invite other building professions to cooperate,” says Ondřej Černík.
Sharing knowledge and inspiration for others
Participation in the BIM OPEN conference is not unique. Ondřej Černík will also speak on 14 November 2025 at the BIM Friday event at VŠB-TUO, where he will present the topic “Everyday with BIM”. The lecture is intended to show that BIM is not only a tool for large projects, but also a practical helper in the everyday work of a designer in the context of object-based 3D modelling. “BIM should not be a scarecrow or unnecessary administration. If one works with it efficiently, it can improve the quality of projects and communication within the team. At HSF System, we see BIM as a natural tool for quality and information-driven design,” concludes Ondřej Černík.
