Ostrava scientists win prestigious Medis Awards for Medical Research

MUDr. Juraj Timkovič, Ph.D., head of the Centre for Children with Visual Impairment at the Eye Clinic of the University Hospital Ostrava and assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ostrava, received the prestigious Medis Awards for Medical Research on 13 March in Ljubljana. The international expert jury selected a total of 251 scientific papers from 9 medical disciplines. Juraj Timkovič won the award in the field of ophthalmology. This is the first award for the Czech Republic in this prestigious international scientific competition.
