The idea of doing something useful for students was born in Zlín in the spring of 2012, when businessmen gathered at the Bata Institute on the occasion of a film screening with Bata’s memorabilia. Several entrepreneurs, led by Miroslav Hofman and Jaroslav Řasa, decided to start inspiring students with their stories of entrepreneurship.
Thus, the YOU CAN ENTERPRISE educational programme was created, and other businessmen and women gradually joined in. The first seminars took place in spring 2012, since then more than 66,000 students have gone through the programme and every 4th high school in the Czech Republic incorporates the programme into its teaching. Intergenerational experience sharing has proven to be a great way of informal learning that is appreciated by students and teachers alike and gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to participate in the development of entrepreneurship in young people.
