Place of work
VŠB – Technical University Ostrava, Faculty of Economics
Field
Macroeconomics, financial economics, financial market regulation
He came third in the prestigious competition with his paper “An Alternative Indicator for Setting the Countercyclical Capital Buffer under IRFS9: The Case of the Czech Republic”.
His research focuses on how economic policy affects household behaviour, the functioning of credit markets and the stability of the financial system. In a current project supported by the Czech Government Grant Agency, he is investigating how pandemics and geopolitical crises disrupt these links and how their impacts can be effectively addressed. The aim is to find out what impacts emergencies have on economic growth, lending and bank performance, and how economic policy measures can help counter these impacts. The research is intended to offer practical insights that policy makers can use to cope with similar shocks in the future and to help strengthen the resilience of the economy to global challenges.
“I enjoy science most when it can affect reality. Macroeconomics is not just about theories, but about people facing real decisions – whether to take out a mortgage, how to invest, how to respond to inflation. I want to contribute to the emergence of science in our region that has an impact – not just academically, but practically. The Moravian-Silesian region has a tradition of strong technical and economic education. Many excellent economists and researchers have come from here – and I am convinced that this potential remains today. I want to be part of an environment where high quality research with an international reach and a real contribution to society is produced.”
