History, popularization of science

Hana Komárková comes from Bruntál. Perhaps for this reason she has always been drawn to the Middle Ages. She studied history at the Silesian University in Opava, where she also successfully completed a doctoral programme in History with a focus on Czech and Czechoslovak history. During her studies she did a number of internships abroad (PL, UK), but she did not find a better place to live than Silesia.

Currently, he works at the Institute of Historical Sciences of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana as an assistant professor of medieval history. Within the Research Centre for the Cultural History of Silesia and Central Europe he focuses on Silesian cities of the late Middle Ages and early modern period and regional history.

“The task of the historian is to study man and human society, their past and development. From this point of view, our region is an extremely interesting subject of research, whatever historical epoch you focus on. Another task of the historian should be to open up new perspectives on the present through the past. We are trying to do both within the Research Centre for the Cultural History of Silesia and Central Europe at the University of Silesia.”
