The sharpness is growing. If you are from Opava and its surroundings, you will not hear these words for the first time. Although OSTROJ is one of the oldest companies in the region (its roots date back to 1872), it is still developing and pushing the boundaries of engineering production. In the second half of the 20th century, OSTROJ was known as a centre for innovation and production in the field of subsurface coal mining. Reliability, safety and toughness are symbolized by the mechanized mining reinforcements and other equipment from Opava that found their application beyond the Arctic Circle and in the scorching deserts of the western United States. The company continues to build on its mining experience today – whether in the production of remote-controlled mobile box moulds for tunnel construction or in the development of automated industrial lines and conveyor systems. Its equipment is also involved in the construction of the new Prague metro line.
