Startup Edmund is dedicated to the development and application of AI assistant for manufacturing plants. It addresses unexpected disruptions, lack of skilled labor and intergenerational loss of know-how. Edmund works 24/7, working with live data from machines such as sensors and running software, with technical documents and schematics, and applies the long-standing know-how and experience of engineers to find the optimal solution. “As a result, it quickly identifies the cause of a potential fault and proposes specific steps for repair, providing operators with a clear and effective course of action. It virtually allows them to ‘talk to the machines’ and solve even complex problems without unnecessary delays,” described the startup’s co-founder Benjamin Przeczek to Forbes magazine. Edmund most often solves incorrect machine settings, overheating components or blocking a production line by an unexpected error. In such cases, it can work both passively – the technician asks about the error himself and the subsequent solution; or proactively, Edmund detects the error and alerts the technician. In the future, the startup also wants to use data to predict the risk of failure and completely minimize the risk of production stoppage.

Edmund gives industrial production servicemen “superpowers”.

How does it work?

With Edmund’s help, companies can save up to half a million euros a year in costs associated with outages and failures, according to Edmund.
