University of Ostrava
The founding of the University of Ostrava on 28 September 1991 was an important historical milestone for Ostrava and the entire region. The University, which added the humanities to higher education, was a new opportunity for the entire region.
Today, the University of Ostrava is already an important educational and scientific research institution and emphasises the third role of the university: the social role. It is a significant actor in the field of social and cultural events in Ostrava and the entire region, participating directly in the organisation of events for the public (e.g. Ostrava Night of Scientists, We are Ostrava!, etc.), but also indirectly through the activities of students, graduates and academics. The university thus brings diverse and sophisticated stimuli to the cultural spectrum.
Around 10,000 students study at the OU each year and thanks to the unique composition of the faculties, it offers a diverse and wide range of study programmes.

It is a well-known fact that one tends to be distracted by the surrounding text when examining a graphic design, if it makes any sense to them. The task of Lorem Ipsum is then to replace the classic meaningful text with a suitable meaningless alternative with a relatively common word distribution.
This makes it unlike the repetitive “Here’s the text. Here will be the text…” much more readable. Nowadays, Lorem Ipsum is used by many DTP packages and web editors as the default model for filler text.
After all, try typing the phrase “lorem ipsum” into a search engine and you’ll see for yourself. Over the years, various variations and derivations of the classic Lorem Ipsum have appeared, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (e.g. to amuse the reader).
