The Moravian-Silesian Region is actively working to ensure that young people do not leave the region in search of education and work. It wants to show them that they can find quality universities, attractive fields of study and inspiring career opportunities right here – at home. That’s why a unique regional campaign, the Glow Up UNIVERSITY TOUR, was created to connect high schools, universities and the world of work. A total of 9 events in 9 cities in the region will bring all the essentials together in one place: schools, inspiration, personalities and practical information.
“Without young and talented people our region cannot develop. We want to show them that the Moravian-Silesian Region offers more than they expect – quality education, promising fields and the opportunity to do great things. The Moravian-Silesian Region is a wonderful place to live, to study, but also, for example, to do business. The Glow Up UNIVERSITY TOUR is intended to show all this to high school students who are starting to plan their future. All universities in the region will present their opportunities and offer their fields of study in one place,” said Josef Bělica , the Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, adding that this modern event is not just a fair, but also a place full of inspiration and fun. Nine dates are planned from the end of October to mid-January in nine major cities in the region.
The events are aimed at students in their final year of secondary school who are considering applying to university. All events take place in the morning and are free of charge. “In addition to presentations by universities, career counselors and industry experts, young achievers from the region will be an important part of the program. They will share their stories to show that it is not necessary to go elsewhere for an interesting career. The programme will be hosted by influencer Lukáš Souhrada, who addresses high school students in a modern way on social networks as DJ Lucky Boy,” said Josef Bělica, the Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, specifying that among the young speakers will be, for example, doctor Martin Palička, AI expert Dalibor Mráz or successful influencer and moderator Vindy Krejčí. The Glow Up UNIVERSITY TOUR is organised by the Moravian-Silesian Region in cooperation with the Moravian-Silesian Employment Pact. Specific dates and venues are on the event website.
