Prague 13. 10. 2025
TA CR Day is a traditional event in the field of research, through which the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) awards the best applied research projects with a high contribution to society and the economy. This year, the thirteenth year, will be no exception. The gala awards ceremony will take place on 13 November 2025 at the National Museum and will be accompanied by the theme Forgotten Innovations.
TA CR Day has a specific theme each time, which highlights current events in society or the Agency. Last year, TA CR celebrated its 15th anniversary through this event, and this year the theme “Forgotten Innovations: the World as We (Don’t) Know It” was chosen to highlight the complacency with which we approach established technologies and innovations. “The chosen theme ‘Forgotten Innovation’ invites us to reflect. How many great ideas do we already take for granted today? And what about those that are yet to come? I believe there is potential for future innovation in all of us, whether we are researchers, entrepreneurs or government representatives. TA CR’s goal is to uncover and support this potential. TA CR Day is a celebration of visionaries and an inspiration for all those who have the courage to seek new paths,” said Petr Konvalinka, Chairman of TA CR.
The gala evening with the awarding of the TA CR Prizes to the best applied research projects of the past year will begin on 13 November in the evening in the Historical Building of the National Museum. The winners of the four winning projects will take home an original glass sculpture by Czech designer Lukáš Jabůrk. The absolute winner and the holder of the “Czech Idea” Award from 3Dees will be decided by the public themselves through voting on the TA ČR website and directly in the hall during the gala evening. The winners will be presented at the end of October.
“Of course, I cannot reveal the specific winning projects and their researchers yet, but I would like to at least give an overview of the areas in which the winning projects are concerned, because it is in a way a telling spectrum of applied research that has and will continue to be important for our country in the future. In the Business category, it will be a project in the field of aerospace, in the Governance category the jury awarded a project that focused on water, in the Partnership category it was a project focused on children’s health and in the Society category a project in the field of energy gained the attention of experts,” said Petr Konvalinka, Chairman of TA ČR, on the upcoming day.
