Associate Professor Marek Pagáč has been developing multidisciplinary issues of additive technologies (3D printing) for several years. Already in high school he became visible thanks to his success in competitions focused on 3D modeling and programming of CNC machine tools. Following this, he began to expand his contacts in the engineering industry in the Czech Republic and abroad. Marek Pagáč built Protolab, one of the largest 3D printing centers in Central Europe. He actively develops cooperation with talented students within a professional team composed of young scientific researchers across the entire VŠB-TUO through development and commercial projects.

Marek Pagáč is convinced that the young generation of engineers has creative thinking and a sense of modern industrial design. One of the key roles is to create and fulfil the strategic goals and visions of both the department and the university.

Research, activities and impact

Marek Pagáč is involved in a number of strategic projects that transform the region and increase the competitiveness of his home institution, VŠB-TUO. The main task is the implementation of the ADAMAS project, whose sub-research projects focus on multi-material 3D printing and 3D printing of ceramic materials and related materials research and research on post-processing. Marek Pagáč represents several roles in this project: Project Executive Director, Project Expert Guarantor and Senior Researcher. The results of the project will find application in the energy industry, engineering and other industrial fields.

The results of the work may find applications in engineering for the production of difficult-to-manufacture models, in medicine, for example, in the production of body replacements, or in the energy industry for components that can store energy efficiently.
