VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava has defended its top position among universities that are highly rated by companies. It thus overtook the technical universities in Prague and Brno. VŠB-TUO was awarded the School Recommended by Employers award for the fourth time in a row.
“The long-term quality of our university in preparing graduates for the needs of the labour market is our priority. Every year we adapt and innovate our study programmes and place great emphasis on cooperation with industry to support its development. I am pleased that our efforts have been reflected in the survey and we can see it in the form of growing interest in studying with us,” said Igor Ivan, Rector of VŠB – Technical University Ostrava.
VŠB-TUO has maintained its top position in this survey every year since 2022. It has a stable position among Czech universities that are preferred and recognized by employers. Technical education is appreciated by companies and the labour market proves that graduates of VŠB-TUO are very well employed in practice.
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was ranked 2nd in the faculty category and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics was ranked 8th among more than 100 faculties. VŠB-TUO has long focused on technical fields that are essential for innovation and growth of Czech industry. This success is the result of cooperation with industrial partners and emphasis on practice during studies.
The Employers’ Recommended School survey is organized by the Employers’ Club of the Czech Republic and its aim is to recognize universities that provide employers with quality graduates prepared for practice. In this survey, company representatives evaluate individual faculties and universities in terms of their contribution to the labour market. In total, 167 subjects (faculties + smaller universities) were evaluated this year.
