This prestigious award, which is an expression of recognition for exceptional efforts and results in the field of sustainability, was received by the Vice-Rector for Quality and Investment Construction, Prof. Ing. Radim Čajka, CSc. “This award is a great commitment for us and a confirmation that the steps we take in the field of quality and sustainability are meaningful and bring results. We thank all our employees and students who contribute with their activities to the fact that we can be an example in this area,” said Vice-Rector Prof. Ing. Radim Čajka, CSc.
“Receiving this award is not only an honour, but also an impetus to continue our efforts to improve and develop in the field of sustainable approach and responsibility,” said Ing. Marcel Šihor, Ph.D, MBA, MSc., Sustainability Manager at VŠB-TUO, who also attended the gala evening. “This is proof that our joint work and initiatives are having a real impact not only on the university but also on the wider society,” he added.
VŠB-TUO has long focused on implementing sustainable projects and practices not only in an academic context but also in the wider society. Key activities include the introduction of eco-innovations, the promotion of green technologies and the development of programmes focused on education in the field of sustainable development. This award is thus not only a recognition of achievements, but also an encouragement to further activities towards even greater responsibility towards society and the environment.
The entire gala evening was attended by leading figures from politics, industry and academia who recognised not only the award winners themselves, but also the importance of an active approach to sustainable development as an essential part of modern society. The award is presented annually by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in cooperation with the Quality Council of the Czech Republic. The award is intended for organisations that demonstrate a long-term and systematic approach to social responsibility and actively participate in improving the quality of life, promoting innovation and sustainable practices. The significance of this recognition is underlined by the fact that the ceremony took place in the historic surroundings of the Main Hall of the Waldstein Palace of the Senate of the Czech Republic, which gave the whole event a special significance.
